Mocha Sauce

Seeing as though you LOVED my Toffee Sauce recipe, here is another phenomenal ice-cream sauce to add to your repertoire. The best part (other than the taste) is that it keeps for weeks in the fridge, so you reheat at a moment's notice or prepare it in advance. Oh, and you can add alcohol - bonus!

  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 100ml good strong coffee
  • 1 Tablespoon coffee liquor, such as Kahlua (optional)

  1. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl sitting over a saucepan of gently simmering water.
  2. Take the pan off the heat and whisk in the coffee and liquor (if using).
  3. The sauce will thicken a little as it cools.
  4. Serve hot or cold.
  5. Try not to eat with a spoon every time you open the fridge.
  6. Don't weigh yourself for at least three years after eating.
